Nook For Iphone

After using my friend’s iPad, I found myself a little jealous after seeing the iPad’s version of the Nook app. I’ve always found it a little strange that the iPad would have a Nook app in the first place, seeing as the iPad is an obvious competitor to Barnes and Noble’s own e-reader, but that’s not what this is about. I have an iPhone which I got for free from freebiejeebies and the equivalent app is lacking some of the important features that the iPad version gets, that is, until now.

The latest release of the Nook app for iPhone has brought all the glorious features that were once only available for the iPad to the iPhone. Features such as changing font, text size and line spacing can seem somewhat trivial but can be a life saver depending on what you’re reading or if you have problems with your vision. Barnes and Noble have also added the LendMe feature, the feature that allows you to share books with your friends, something I had much awaited.

There’s been a lot of controversy about Jailbreaking recently, for those who don’t know what that is: Jailbreaking is when you use software to hack your phone, this will void your warranty, to enable extra features that otherwise you couldn’t do, most of them being a bit shifty in the legalities.

freebiejeebies users are excited to see the latest thing to happen in the world of Jailbreaking is that the ex-apple spokesperson, Justin Long (from the infamous I’m a Mac, I’m a PC blablabla adverts), when appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live appears to use a Jailbroken phone himself. I’m not sure what apple would have to say about this but I suppose there isn’t much they can do now he’s not on the payroll.

Every iOS update apple comes out with, they try to lock out the ability to jailbreak your phone, 5minutes later, it’s been Jailbroken again, so it seems apple can’t do much about the situation.
