Cooking Games for Girls: Pros and Cons

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

Cooking games are rapidly becoming some of the most popular games for girls out there. Unlike the dress girl dress upup games (developed specially for girls), cooking games are not just for girls either – boys can also enjoy these little flash games to their heart’s content. Whether they want to learn more about cooking or they just want entertainment, cooking games are amazing fun. Best of all, they’re free, and in most cases there isn’t even a download necessary!

What happens in cooking games? This depends entirely on the type of food being prepared, the format, and the plot. For example, if your child likes puzzle games, he or she may find that games in which you match certain items together in order to create recipes is a nice challenge. These games often consist of playing with a grid filled with different objects. So try cooking games, I’m sure you’ll like them not less than dress up games. The post is named “Pros and Cons of Coking Games”, but I personally see the Pros only in playing this type of games.

A Portal for Monsters

Saturday, October 22nd, 2011

When your child speaks to a complete stranger online, your child is giving the stranger information without even knowing it. Simple things such as the child having a mom and dad already tells the stranger that the child has both parents. When the child tells the stranger that he goes to “X” primary school, he is already telling the stranger on the other side that the child lives in that area or close. There are certain things children are asked, and by answering these questions innocently, it is allowing the stranger to know everything that goes on in your home. This can be stopped and you can protect your kids and your family by using an application called KidsWatch. This software will allow you to limit the amount of time your kids spend on the internet playing online video games or chatting in chat rooms. The software will allow you to read through messages and track internet browsing history and much more

Should You Fix Those Wooden Bed Guards?

Monday, August 8th, 2011

Your child was rough-housing in bed, and rattling the bed guards. Suddenly, your hear a snap and watch as the bed guard clatters to the floor. There’s no question about it, your wooden bed guards are broken. Should you fix them, or just buy a new pair? Well, the answer depends on your woodworking abilities, and how much you are willing to place your confidence in them.

It should be noted that if you are a novice woodworker, you shouldn’t even attempt to fix those bed guards. In fact, you should just order a new pair immediately. People who don’t have the skills that they know they can rely on should not try to fix broken bed guards, because they are putting their children in danger. The only time that you should consider fixing a broken bed guard is if you are 100% confident in your skills as a crafter. Otherwise, it is much safer to simply buy new bed guards.

Potty Training Difficulties

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Sometimes children can experience a lot of problems when they begin to learn to use the potty. One of the most common problems is that they are afraid of the toilet. The toilet is loud and they may have concluded that it will wash them out into the ocean if they fall into it. If you are potty training with a children’s toilet seat, your child may be reluctant to get onto it because of this. So make sure that you can understand your child’s fears and address them by explaining to them how the toilet works. Sometimes, children are reluctant to poop in the potty because they are not used to it. Children that tense up when they have to poop can become constipated, which is not a good thing. So make sure that they eat plenty of fruits and vegetables so that their bowel movements are easy to pass. This will help them to not be afraid of the potty or the toilet.

Janice is Doing Some Research on the Best Double Strollers

Monday, July 18th, 2011

Janice is a writer friend of mine and she told me that she was doing an article on the best double strollers on the market today. She was calling me the other day to ask me if I had an opinion on this topic since she knew that I had two beautiful daughters and that I had gone through at least three double strollers already. I told her that the first cheap one that I bought was not really that good and I considered it a waste of my time and money. It broke down almost instantly. The more expensive one I bought was not good either because it was just a fancy brand with not much quality. What I loved was the last one I bought because this one lasted for a long time and it was quite affordable. All it took was a lot of research. Janice thanked me and told me she would be getting back to me on other baby products.

That Wooden Toy Train

Friday, July 8th, 2011

My dad is the one who buys me toys for boys. I remember one time while we were out to go shopping in one of those strips of shops downtown near the suburbs, my dad took me to one of those shops that sell wooden toy trains. In that shop, I saw so many different kinds and sizes of trains. As a child in my early years, I was in awe. There were gigantic trains that give off really loud sound and are battery operated. But amongst all of these trains that I saw, there was one particular train that struck me the most. It was a wooden train. It had its long string in front of the first cart that was followed by 4 other small wooden carts that tagged along with it. They were painted with varnish and are ready for the taking. I told my dad that I wanted to have it, but the shop owner, said that it was already bought.

Natural Sunrise Alarm Wake-Up

Monday, May 2nd, 2011

Waking up with a gradual light alarm clock is a gentle way to shake you up from your deep sleep. This is especially important when it comes to kids who love to sleep long without caring that they’re late to go school. Just imagine poor kids with a long and sad face when they have to get up early in the morning to get ready for school. By gently waking them up intead of shaking them awake fast, we minimize the pain and sorrow that they are feeling every single weekday.

Basically the sunrise alarm clock uses a technology that can help any person wake up in a good mood because it works the person’s 5 senses into full wake-up stage. It relies on people being up in dailight, so by offering them gentle sunlight to their eyes, the alarm reinforces this urge, this need to wake up because it is time, and not because you are dragged out of bed by a screaming mom.

So if you’re not sure whether such an alarm clock is good for your kids, trust me, it will help you minimize the cries and tumble your child is doing every morning. You’ll thank me for it soon enough.

Making Baseball Party Favors More Valuable to Kids

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

Baseball is a favorite game of kids and it is also a very popular theme for their birthday parties. That also means that it is an incredibly common theme at many of kids’ birthdays. You want some way of differentiating your child’s birthday party from the dozens of others’. You can effectively use your baseball party favors to create a unique experience to the kids attending the party.

To give children an experience that they want to remember, do something that other people generally don’t at their kids’ birthday parties. For instance fun activities and games are part of all kids’ birthday parties, but they are not always associated with the party favors that they give out to children. Children receive the same party favors regardless of how much fun they had.

The most important thing here is to create custom party favor kids for each child that attends the party. That means everybody has their name printed on the favor bag. That means a lot to children since it is specially meant for them and nobody else. Secondly, children will love party favors more if they feel they have earned them rather than just gifted.

For example, arrange for a small baseball game at the party for kids. The kid that wins a particular segment gets a special price as party favors, which is different from the others. Also, make it easy for children to win games, in that make it simple for children to understand and play the game.

As a general rule, make sure that your baseball party favors are directly related to some fun activity that the kids are part of at the party event. That way, they will easily associate the favors later with the fun they had at the party. Subsequently, your child’s birthday party will be more memorable for everybody and stand out among the other baseball parties.

All About the Laws That Protect the Parents

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Parents are very important people to a child&#39s life. Not only do they raise the child but also provide the basic needs of the child. That is why their rights should be respected. The Parental Rights Legislation Act was enacted to protect the rights of parents. The laws say both parents have a right to their children and have equal responsibilities. In case they divorce; they are entitled to the child or children unless there is a good reason why they should not. If one partner denies the other access to the kids; he or she can file a case with the parental court and try to get an order to access the child or children. The law also says that one of the parent has a right to file a case to get a court order stopping the other parent from interfering with the life of the child in case the child will not be safe with that parent. All in all, these laws have done parents a great deal especially those parents that have difficulties in their marriages.

Children Bought Up By Single Parents May Have Low Self Esteem

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

We always encourage periodic parent’s teachers meeting in our school. This is necessary to keep the parents involved regarding the development of their child. However there are some students in every class who are brought up by single parents. In such students it is seen that one parent is busy trying to make both ends meet whereas the other parent has abandoned all his responsibility. Since the child spends very less time under the guidance of his parent he tends to be very introvert in nature. The child avoids mixing with other children and is seen to be aloof in most cases. Such children do not fare well academically because they have a low self esteem. We identify such students who need to be handled in a different way. We have a child counselor to whom such parental abandonment cases are referred so that over a period of time the child accepts the situation he is facing. Although it is not easy in most of the cases but we still would like to take care for the children in our school.
