I have recently upgraded my 50cc scooter. I had an old Honda mopeds from the 1970s, and I can’t believe the difference now for a machine that is supposedly very similar.
In 2010 mopeds are a completely different kettle of fish to the old bikes of 30 or 40 years ago. For a start they have a great deal more power. I’m restricted my new bike can go 40 mph easily. And it is not even run in properly yet.
In comparison, my old 50cc Honda never went more than 32 miles an hour, and that was downhill!
Of course, being a new moped it does look nice and shiny. And I will try and maintain it to the standard for as long as I can. However I do tend to give my bikes a lot of work to do over the year. There is only about 11:50 weeks a year when you will not see me gliding around. In fact in 2000 9I did over 25,000 miles on my old little Honda 50cc
